Introduction to the Research Group

The research group led by Professor Honggen Peng at the School of Resources and Environment, Nanchang University, mainly conducts research on air pollution control and greenhouse gas conversion, focusing on the catalytic purification and resource utilization of small molecular air pollutants and greenhouse gases including VOCs, NOₓ and CO₂, to support the national "Dual Carbon" strategy and the construction of the National Ecological Civilization Pilot Zone in Jiangxi Province.

Professor Peng has presided over and completed more than 20 national, provincial and ministerial research projects, including projects under the National Key R&D Program, the General Program and Young Scientists Fund of the National National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the Jiangxi Provincial Key R&D Program. He has published more than 150 SCI papers in high-impact environmental, chemical and chemical engineering journals, such as Nature Communications, Chem, Angewandte Chemie, Advanced Materials, ACS Catalysis, Journal of Catalysis, Applied Catalysis B: Environmental, and Environmental Science & Technology.

Professor Honggen Peng serves as Deputy Dean of the School of Resources and Environment, Member of the Academic Committee of Nanchang University, and National Young Talent. His research achievements have been awarded the Second Prize of Jiangxi Provincial Natural Science Award. As the organizer, Nanchang University successfully held the 2021 National Annual Conference on Synergistic Prevention and Control Technology for Volatile Organic Compounds Pollution Under the Carbon Neutrality Goal, attracting nearly 600 domestic peers and experts from the environmental protection system of Jiangxi Province. In August 2024, the research group hosted the 2024 National Youth Symposium on Pollution and Control Chemistry, with more than 200 distinguished scholars including academicians, national leading talents and young talents in attendance.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Applicants should be born on or after January 1, 1990 (age 35 or below), with good physical and mental health. The doctoral degree must be obtained within 3 years, or the doctoral dissertation defense must have been completed.

2. Be honest and trustworthy, passionate about scientific research, courageous to take on key responsibilities, and have a strong sense of teamwork.

3. Doctoral research should be mainly focused on environmental catalysis, theoretical computation and related fields. Graduates with degrees in chemistry, chemical engineering, environmental science and engineering, materials science and engineering are preferred. Applicants should have a solid record of peer-reviewed academic publications.

Job Responsibilities

1. Conduct independent research in the fields of environmental catalysis and greenhouse gas conversion.

2. Assist in supervising master's and doctoral students.

3. Actively apply for major research funding programs, including the Postdoctoral Innovative Talent Support Program, the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, and the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Meanwhile, assist the research group in applying for various research grants.

Position Benefits

1. The annual salary is no less than 242,000 RMB (pre-tax, including rental subsidy). The specific remuneration package is determined through consultation between the postdoctoral research station and the postdoctoral researcher. Eligible candidates can enjoy relevant postdoctoral policies stipulated in the Nine Policies for Postdoctoral Researchers of Jiangxi Province.

2. Full support will be provided for postdoctoral researchers to apply for national, provincial and municipal postdoctoral talent programs and research projects during their station stay. Successful applicants will enjoy the corresponding benefits on the principle of taking the higher standard.

3. Recruits are eligible to rent public rental housing for university faculty after joining the group.

4. Outstanding (Faculty-Track) postdoctoral researchers who meet the relevant requirements during their station stay will be given priority for recommendation to stay and work at Nanchang University.

5. Household registration procedures will be handled in accordance with postdoctoral administration policies of Jiangxi Province and relevant policies of Nanchang City. Postdoctoral researchers who remain employed in Nanchang after completing their postdoctoral research are entitled to relevant postdoctoral policies under the Ten New Talent Policies of Nanchang.
