Introduction to the Research Group

Led by Professor Xianchuan Xie, the research group focuses on watershed water environmental protection and pollution control. Professor Xie has presided over and completed numerous key projects, including topics and sub-topics of the National Major Science and Technology Project for Water Pollution Control and Treatment, projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the long-term project for Innovative Leading Talents under Jiangxi Provincial “Double Thousand Plan”, Jiangxi Provincial Key R&D “Bidding and Leading” Project, and Key Programs of Jiangxi Provincial Natural Science Foundation.

He has published over 120 academic papers, including more than 70 SCI papers as the first or corresponding author, and authored 4 monographs and textbooks. As the first inventor, he has been granted more than 20 domestic and international invention patents. His research and teaching achievements have been recognized with multiple awards: Second Prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award, First Prize of Environmental Protection Science and Technology Award, Second Prize of Science and Technology Award of China Circular Economy Association, Third Prize of Science and Technology Award of China Society of Plant Protection, and Special Prize of Jiangxi Provincial University Teachers’ Teaching Innovation Competition.

Professor Xie concurrently serves as Deputy Director of the Key Laboratory of Poyang Lake Environment and Resource Utilization, Ministry of Education, and Deputy Secretary-General of the Water Environment Branch of Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences.

Recruitment Details

1. Position: Postdoctoral Researcher

Eligibility Criteria

1. Applicants should be born on or after January 1, 1990 (age 35 or below), with good physical and mental health. The doctoral degree must be obtained within 3 years, or the doctoral dissertation defense must have been completed.

2. Be honest and trustworthy, passionate about scientific research, courageous to take on key responsibilities, and possess excellent teamwork spirit.

3. Eligible research backgrounds include, but are not limited to: environmental engineering, environmental science, agricultural environment and resource protection, ecology, materials science, environmental data analysis and other related disciplines.

Job Responsibilities

1. Conduct independent scientific research and provide support for the research work of the group leader.

2. Assist the group leader in supervising master’s and doctoral students and undertaking other teaching tasks.

3. Actively apply for major research funding programs, including the Postdoctoral Innovative Talent Support Program, the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, and the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Postdoctoral researchers shall manage the allocated funding upon obtaining project support.

Position Benefits

1. The annual salary is no less than 242,000 RMB (pre-tax, including rental subsidy). The specific remuneration package is determined through consultation between the postdoctoral research station and the postdoctoral researcher. Eligible candidates can enjoy relevant postdoctoral policies stipulated in the Nine Policies for Postdoctoral Researchers of Jiangxi Province.

2. Full support will be provided for postdoctoral researchers to apply for national, provincial and municipal postdoctoral talent programs and research projects during their station stay. Successful applicants will enjoy the corresponding benefits on the principle of taking the higher standard.

3. Recruits are eligible to rent public rental housing for university faculty after joining the group.

4. Household registration procedures will be handled in accordance with postdoctoral administration policies of Jiangxi Province and relevant policies of Nanchang City. Postdoctoral researchers who remain employed in Nanchang after completing their postdoctoral research are entitled to relevant postdoctoral policies under the Ten New Talent Policies of Nanchang.
