Introduction to the Research Group

The Algae Innovation Engineering Research Center of Nanchang University takes "Microalgal Biotechnology Empowering Carbon Neutrality and Green Development" as its mission. Based on the major national demands for green, low-carbon and high-quality development, the center strives to build a first-class domestic and internationally leading algae innovation hub. It conducts basic and applied research in fields including microalgal photosynthetic carbon fixation, biosynthesis, and resource utilization.

Professor Jin Liu, Director of the Center, obtained his bachelor's and master's degrees from Sun Yat-sen University, and his doctoral degree from the University of Hong Kong. He has worked at Arizona State University, the University of Maryland, and Peking University. He has been selected into the National High-Level Overseas Young Talents Program, Peking University Boya Young Scholar Program, and the list of the World's Top 2% Scientists (Annual and Career Scientific Impact). He has presided over multiple scientific research projects, such as projects under the National Key R&D Program, General Programs of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and international cooperation projects. Currently, he serves as Associate Editor of Algal Research and Advanced Biotechnology. Recruitment Information

Recruitment Requirements

1. Applicants shall be born on or after January 1, 1990 (age 35 or below), be in good physical and mental health. The doctoral degree must be obtained within 3 years, or the doctoral dissertation defense must have been completed.

2. Be honest and trustworthy, passionate about scientific research, courageous to take on key responsibilities, and possess excellent teamwork spirit.

3. Hold a doctoral degree in biology, ecology, environmental science, or related disciplines. Demonstrate strong independent research capabilities, and have published high-level research papers as the first author or corresponding author in relevant fields.

Job Responsibilities

1. Conduct basic and applied research related to microalgal photosynthetic carbon fixation, biosynthesis, and pollutant degradation.

2. Assist in supervising master's and doctoral students.

3. Actively apply for scientific research projects including the Postdoctoral Innovative Talent Support Program, the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, and the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Postdoctoral researchers shall manage the allocated funding upon obtaining project support.

Position Benefits

1. The annual salary is no less than 242,000 RMB (pre-tax, including rental subsidy). The specific amount shall be determined through consultation between the postdoctoral research station and the postdoctoral researcher. Applicants are entitled to relevant postdoctoral policies stipulated in the Nine Policies for Postdoctoral Researchers of Jiangxi Province.

2. Full support will be provided for postdoctoral researchers to apply for national, provincial and municipal postdoctoral talent programs and research projects during their station stay (such as the Postdoctoral Innovative Talent Support Program, the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, etc.). Successful applicants will enjoy the corresponding benefits on the principle of taking the higher standard.

3. Eligible recruits may choose to rent public rental housing for university faculty members after joining the center.

4. Household registration procedures shall be handled in accordance with the postdoctoral administration policies of Jiangxi Province and the relevant policies of Nanchang City. Postdoctoral researchers who remain employed in Nanchang after completing their postdoctoral research are entitled to relevant postdoctoral policies stipulated in the Ten New Talent Policies of Nanchang.
