Notice on the Launch of the Global Competence Training Course for Young Talents (2025–2026 Academic Year)

To All Schools:
The Global Competence Training Program for Young Talents is organized by the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE). It aims to cultivate interdisciplinary international talents with a strong sense of national identity, global vision and cross-cultural communication skills. The program is designed to enhance students' international competitiveness, as well as their professional competence for positions in international organizations, large state-owned enterprises, multinational corporations, foreign-related institutions, mass media and government departments. By closely aligning with the future demand for interdisciplinary international talents, it effectively improves students' global-oriented professional capabilities. As one of the first batch of universities approved by CEAIE to host this program, our university plans to select 40 outstanding students to participate in the 2025 Global Competence Training Program for Young Talents. Relevant matters are hereby notified as follows:

I. Program Overview

This program adopts a "Course + Practice" training model, consisting of 9 theoretical courses divided into three modules—Contemporary China, International Understanding and Cross-Cultural Communication (3 courses per module), 9 themed lectures integrated with the course content, and 9 domestic and international practical activities organically linked to course teaching (referred to as the "999 Model"). (See Annex 1 for details of the training model). The courses to be launched this time cover only the 9 online theoretical courses, excluding themed lectures and extracurricular practical activities (notifications for themed lectures and extracurricular practical activities will be released separately within the class after the program commences).

(I) Program Duration

The program will be offered in two semesters (Spring and Autumn) of the 2025–2026 academic year.

(II) Teaching Format

Live online sessions.

(III) Program Benefits

Students are required to take at least one course from each module of the theoretical courses. Those with satisfactory attendance and who pass the assessments will be awarded a bilingual (Chinese-English) completion certificate issued by the CEAIE Institute of International Studies. Students who obtain the certificate may apply for recognition of the earned credits as innovation and entrepreneurship credits for academic research at our university.

II. Program Application

(I) Application Period

From the date of issuance to 5:00 p.m., September 30, 2025

(II) Eligibility Criteria

  1. Full-time undergraduate students; students majoring in science and engineering are preferred. Applicants should aspire to work in international organizations, large state-owned enterprises, multinational corporations, foreign-related institutions, mass media or government departments in the future.

  2. Abide by laws and regulations, have a good academic record at school, and possess strong comprehensive quality.

(III) Selection Process

  1. The selection will be organized by the School of Resources and Environment, based on voluntary application and review and recommendation by the school.

  2. Applicants are required to submit the hard copy of the Application Form (Annex 2), a copy of academic transcripts and a copy of foreign language proficiency certificate to Room C307, Area C, Environmental Building. The Information Summary Form (Annex 3) should be sent to the email address: yangxp101@ncu.edu.cn.

III. Fees and Funding

The program fee (covering theoretical courses and themed lectures, excluding extracurricular practical activities) is 3,750 yuan per person. The university will provide full tuition funding for the 40 students who attend all selected courses and obtain the completion certificate.
