Research Overview
My research mainly focuses on land-use simulation and regulation oriented toward sustainable development and carbon neutrality goals, as well as the coupling mechanisms between land-use transitions and the ecological environment under global climate change. I have served as the principal investigator for four research projects, including a National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Young Scientists Fund, a China Postdoctoral Science Foundation General Program, and a Jiangxi Provincial Natural Science Foundation General Program, and have participated in two major projects, including an NSFC General Program and a National Social Science Fund Major Project.
Since 2021, I have published 30 Chinese and English academic papers as first or corresponding author. Seven papers have been selected as ESI Highly Cited Papers worldwide, among which five were also listed as ESI Hot Papers. These works have appeared in leading international and domestic journals such as Resources, Conservation & Recycling, Cities, iScience, Habitat International, Sustainable Cities and Society, Land Use Policy, Geography and Sustainability, Environmental Impact Assessment Review, and Acta Ecologica Sinica.
I currently serve as an editorial board member or early-career editorial board member for journals including Resources and Environment in the Yangtze River Basin, Journal of Meteorology and Environment, Humanities & Social Sciences Communications, and Human Settlements and Sustainability. Since 2022, I have co-supervised multiple master’s and doctoral students who have received the Ministry of Education National Scholarship. I have also mentored four undergraduate research assistants who published high-quality papers and were subsequently recommended for postgraduate study at universities such as Central University of Finance and Economics, Xiamen University, Jilin University, and Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, where they continue interdisciplinary research.
I warmly welcome prospective master’s students who are passionate about interdisciplinary research at the intersection of geography, environmental science, ecology, and economics, who are committed to high-level scientific research, and who aspire to produce high-quality research outcomes. I also encourage motivated undergraduate students who have basic skills in data analysis software, literature search and reading abilities, strong interest in academic research, and a diligent and patient attitude to contact me to participate in research training and academic competitions. Interested students are invited to send their CV and a preliminary research proposal to: weiguoen22@ncu.edu.cn.
