Research Overview

Professor Zhou's main research focuses on the source control and resource utilization of pollutants. He has presided over more than 20 projects including those funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He serves as the leader of the Innovation Team for "High-Risk Organic Wastewater Treatment and Resource Utilization", and is a member of the State Environmental Protection Key Laboratory of Environmental Risk Assessment and Control for Chemical Processes.
He holds titles including National Young Talent, Shanghai Famous Teacher of Curriculum Ideology and Politics, Excellent Technical Leader of Shanghai, and Shanghai Young Science and Technology Star. He is also an editorial board member of journals such as Chinese Chemical Letters and Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering.
He has been listed in Stanford University's Top 2% Scientists Worldwide and ScholarGPS's Top 0.05% Scientists Globally. The technologies he developed, such as environmental functional materials and catalytic degradation of pollutants, have been applied to the adsorption, separation and purification of various high-risk pollutants including polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, heavy metals, and environmental hormones.
