Research Overview

The main research focuses on the development of biochemical-membrane processes based on algal-bacterial symbionts, for advanced treatment and resource utilization of typical high-color, high-turbidity and high-salinity industrial and agricultural wastewater. By integrating biochemical and physicochemical technologies, the recovery of valuable resources and reuse of reclaimed water from wastewater are realized. In addition, research on the formation mechanisms and control strategies of membrane fouling during wastewater treatment by membrane technology is carried out to achieve continuous and stable operation of the process. At present, relevant work has achieved good results at the laboratory scale, and pilot and demonstration projects are planned.
Prof. Li has published more than 40 academic papers in domestic and international journals (including 27 SCI papers, 17 first/corresponding author papers, 1 highly cited paper with 223 citations for a single paper, total citations of 1363, and an h-index of 15), 12 conference papers, and obtained 5 patents. He has presided over more than 10 national/provincial vertical, horizontal projects and teaching reform projects. His honors include the title of "Young Post Expert" of Nanchang University (2021), Second Prize of Excellent Paper Award of Jiangxi Society for Environmental Sciences (2021), Ganjiang Young Scholar of "215 Talent Project" (2018), and Excellent Undergraduate Class Advisor of Nanchang University (2016-2017 and 2019-2020 academic years).
