Research Overview

Taking national strategies such as "Beautiful China Initiative" and "Carbon Neutrality & Carbon Peaking" as opportunities, Professor Peng is engaged in research on environmental functional materials, atmospheric pollution control, and greenhouse gas conversion (pollution reduction and carbon abatement). He has presided over and completed more than 10 national and provincial-level projects, including the National Key R&D Program (Young Scientists Project), and the Youth and General Programs of the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
He has published over 100 SCI papers in top-tier environmental/chemistry & chemical engineering journals such as Nature Communications (Nature sub-journal), Chem (Cell Press Chemical Flagship Journal), Angewandte Chemie International Edition, ACS Catalysis, Journal of Catalysis, Applied Catalysis B: Environmental, and Journal of Hazardous Materials. His papers have been cited more than 3,000 times, with an H-index of 35. He has filed 27 patents, of which 7 have been authorized.
He has successfully developed a complete set of indoor formaldehyde purification technologies and directly participated in the entire research process from basic research to industrial application. He is invited to serve as a reviewer for more than 50 important domestic and foreign journals, including Angewandte Chemie International Edition, Environmental Science & Technology, ACS Catalysis, iScience, Applied Catalysis B: Environmental, Journal of Hazardous Materials, Chemical Engineering Journal, Small, and ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces.
He successfully organized the 2021 National Annual Conference on Synergistic Prevention and Control Technology of VOCs Pollution under Carbon Neutrality Targets, with Nanchang University as the host unit. Nearly 600 domestic counterparts and experts from Jiangxi environmental protection system were invited to attend the conference. More than 10 postgraduate students supervised (including co-supervised) by him have been admitted to domestic Double First-Class Universities for further study through the application-assessment program.
Students and young doctors interested in research on environmental functional materials and atmospheric pollution & carbon reduction are welcome to join the research team for common development!
