Shi Lei

 Shi Lei, male, born in March 1972, is of Han ethnicity and holds a Doctor of Engineering degree. Currently, he serves as the dean of the School of Resources and Environment at Nanchang University and the director of the Institute of Carbon Neutrality in River Basins. He is also a specially-appointed professor at Nanchang University, the deputy editor-in-chief of the "Journal of Cleaner Production", and the vice chairperson of the Innovation and Green Development Professional Committee of the China Society for Sustainable Development (since 2018), as well as the vice chairperson of the Network Science Branch of the Chinese Society for Operations Research (since 2019). Previously, he was the chairperson of the Industrial Ecology Professional Committee of the Chinese Ecological Society (2018-2022), the director of the Asian Office of the "Journal of Industrial Ecology" (2017-2021), the chairperson of the 10th International Conference on Industrial Ecology (2019), the chairperson of the Chinese Society for Industrial Ecology (2016-2017), and a lead author of "Global Environment Outlook - 6".
        Engaged in research on industrial ecology and carbon neutrality in river basins, with main research interests including: industrial ecological complexity and industrial carbon neutrality, analyzing the structural and functional complexity of industrial ecosystems, and exploring comprehensive solutions for carbon neutrality in industrial systems at the industry and regional levels; carbon neutrality in river basins, analyzing the carbon cycle in the socio-economic systems of river basins, constructing models for carbon neutrality in river basin socio-economic systems, and exploring ecological models and paths for river basins. Has led over 30 projects including major national water projects, key national research and development plans, national natural science funds, and national social science funds; has led the formulation of three national standards including the "Technical Guidelines for Material Flow Analysis in Industrial Parks"; has published over 100 papers. Has long served as a World Bank green development expert, an expert on green industrial parks for the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and an expert on China-South Korea green development cooperation, providing planning and decision-making support for central government departments and local authorities.
